Hirsch, Gabriel, MD, FRCPC
Dr. Gabriel Hirsch is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation of the University of British Columbia. He is a consulting Physiatrist at Vancouver Hospital and is also a rehabilitation consultant for George Pearson Centre in Vancouver. In addition, Dr. Hirsch has an active Rehabilitation Medicine practice, with a special focus in the management of musculoskeletal and neurological conditions.
Dr. Hirsch obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry in 1977 at the University of Munich, West Germany, followed by a Doctorate of Medicine in 1983 at the University of Hamburg, West Germany. After a rotating internship at the Royal Alexander Hospital in Edmonton from 1984 to 1985, he initially trained in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in Edmonton, Alberta, ultimately completing this specialty program at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.
Dr. Hirsch is a Fellow of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and a member of The British Columbia Medical Association. He is also a member of The Society of Specialists, Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia. Concurrently Dr. Hirsch serves as the Economics Representative and Chair for the Section of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation of the University of British Columbia.
